2023 Game Plan + Goals
By: paigeonthepeak
Happy New Year (a few weeks late π )!! I hope your 2023 is off to a fantastic start. For the first time, I’m excited to actually be putting my 2023 goals to (virtual) paper. Read on to see what I’ll be working on and let me know in the comments what you want to accomplish this year so I can cheer you on!
- Run a half marathon by my 30th birthday. This will be accomplished by running the Surf City half in Huntington Beach, CA in early February! I’ve never been a “runner” but really wanted to challenge myself physically and mentally to achieve a goal.
- Go on a date with Jake at least once a month. β₯οΈ You gotta date your spouse! Jake and I are planning to go on a date where we do some different activity each month.
- Grow my Weekly Peak newsletter list to 500+ subscribers. I really love my little newsletter community and genuinely look forward to sharing stories and links every week. I’m hoping my newsletter will be a way to connect with folks and will bring a bit of joy and laughter to your inbox (if you’re not subscribed yet, click here to get in on the goods!).
- Travel internationally. A group of my college gals are planning a trip to Portugal, and I can’t wait to go on an unforgettable adventure with them!
- Treat myself to therapy. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, and I’ve benefitted from it in the past. I’ve been meaning to start the process again and this is the year I’m going to do it!
- Fully renovate the office/workout room. My plan is to add DIY built-ins with a desk space, a new light fixture, wallpaper the ceiling, and create storage for workout gear. Everything is on hold, though, until we can get the floors leveled and new flooring put in. We’re aiming to have that done in March!
- Partner with 10+ sustainable, female-founded, and/or ethically-sourced brands. As I work to grow Paige on the Peak, I’ve got some dream partnerships I want to establish. As a side note – I’ll only work with brands I’ve purchased from with my own hard-earned $$, so you can always trust I really love them.
- Intentionally connect with a friend at least once a week. Sometimes I can go really inward, and connecting with others is the best way to get outside of your own head. I’m so thankful for my tribe. β₯οΈ
- Become a sourdough lady. I love sourdough and have been wanting to learn how to bake my own for years. I finally ordered a starter packet from Thrive Market so progress is being made!
- Put in new floors across the first floor. We’re thinking LVP (luxury vinyl planks) from Flooret (they’re a sustainable brand with great prices).
- Work smarter, not harder. As an enneagram 3, I tend to couple my self-worth with productivity and hitting a goal (does that make this entire post ironic? Maybe π). I make things more difficult for myself than is necessary because I feel like I always have to be doing something. This year, I’m working on setting up (and consistently using!) systems to streamline and simplify everything from my day job to meal planning to social media.
- Write in a gratitude journal daily. I’ve actually been practicing this for years and it’s incredibly rewarding. If you’re looking to start this yourself, I’d recommend keeping the Four Things Gratitude Journal on your bedside table. Big thanks to one of my best friends for sharing this great brand with me!
- Author one new blog post weekly. Consistency is key, right?!
- Paint the kitchen cabinets, add open shelving, and replace the rotting side door to the kitchen. Our kitchen is both tiny and dark. Not a great combo. So, we plan to resurface our existing cabinets and replace the old door with a dutch door to brighten things up!
- Move my body for at least 30 minutes daily. Some days that’ll look like running or crushing the Peloton, and some days it’ll look like walking or yoga.
- Join a church community. Since we plan to stay in Colorado for the foreseeable future, I want to find a church Jake and I can both identify with and get involved.
- Landscape and properly grade the front + side yards. This is one of most important home projects and one I’m dearly looking forward to completing. It’s also a project we definitely aren’t qualified to do ourselves π We’ll be calling in the pros for this!
This is going to be a great year – I can feel it!!! Here’s hoping it’s an amazing year for you, too. Share some of your 2023 goals in the comments so I can cheer you on!!
