Holiday Gift Guides 2022
By: paigeonthepeak
Happy holidays!!!! I’ve already set up my tree and hung wreaths on the windows – it’s our fist Christmas in this house, so I just couldn’t wait! I’m equally excited to share these sustainable gift guides I created based on what I’m gifting loved ones this year. If you know me, you know I try to support sustainable, clean, and small businesses whenever I can. I’m hoping these gifts are helpful for you as you shop for your favorite people! Wishing you an amazing holiday season!!
For Her
- DIME Mega Eye Bundle: they use sustainable packaging, and I am LOVING their mascara in this eye bundle (still testing out the eyebrow and lash serums, but so far so good!).
- Athleta 7/8 Leggings: as a B-corp, Athleta is dedicated to balancing profits with people and the planet. Plus, these leggings are amazing!!
- Vejas campo sneakers: made with Amazonian rubber soles, vegan leather, and entirely traceable/ethical materials. I’ve had my pair for a year and they are a true year-round wardrobe staple.
- Everlane merino half zip sweater: literally anything by Everlane is guaranteed to be the absolute best. They’re not only dedicated to cute clothes, though – their price transparency is amazing, and their commitment to sustainability is truly commendable.
- J Crew jammies: I bought myself a pair of these on sale because they’re made with responsibly-sourced viscose.
- Stanley 40 oz water bottle: stainless steel + reusable! I take this with me everywhere.
- Beyond Bright Minis: Beautycounter is also a B-corp and will have 100% sustainable packaging by next year. I love supporting them because their products are safe, sustainable, and genuinely of the highest quality.
- Cuyana panama wide-brim hat: I have been eyeing this hat for YEARS because it’s beautiful. Cuyana uses sustainable materials and ethical labor practices. A win-win.
For Him
- Vejas campo sneakers: he’ll wear these all the time and he’ll look good doing it!
- Vegan leather cashmere lined gloves: these classic vegan leather gloves will step up any guy’s winter wardrobe.
- Ember mug: definitely a luxury, but a dang good one at that. This is a temperature-control mug (controlled by your phone). Ember has big ambitions in the packaging world to improve the reusability of food and medicine containers worldwide.
- Beautycounter face sunscreen: the best clean and sustainable sunscreen, no contest. Goes on clear. This is Jake’s go-to anytime he’s outside.
- Brooklinen waffle weave robe: Jake practically lives in his. It’s amazingly comfortable and made with responsibly sourced cotton.
- Monos hard sided carry-on bag: we have Away luggage, but if I could go back in time I’d get Monos instead. Their carry-on bag is great and they’re climate neutral certified.
- MountainFlow Eco Wax – hot wax for ski/snowboard: the perfect wax to gear up (or touch up) for ski season!
- REI Lifetime Membership: a one-time $30 fee pays off almost immediately and, certainly over a lifetime of purchases. You’ll get annual cash back, access to great sales, great customer service, etc. I’ve been a member for years and love it.
For Parents/In-Laws
- NakedWines membership: the gift that keeps on giving! We’ve been NakedWines members for years and absolutely love them. They’re all US winemakers and engage in ongoing sustainability efforts,
- Ember mug: calling all moms/grandmas! This is the perfect gift for anyone who has ever put their coffee in the microwave to warm it up only to discover that it’s still there an hour later.
- Renew You Body Duo: this is one of my personal favorite holiday sets! With a tightening boost body serum and a body exfoliator, it’s perfect to split up and give one to your mom and one to your MIL.
- Aerogarden indoor grow kit: such a fun way to get fresh herbs on your pasta!
- National Parks Pass: as an outdoorsy family, this is a gift I know my parents would love. Even if your family isn’t the most outdoorsy, this would be a great way to encourage loved ones to get outside!
- Vegan leather gloves (Downholme): an affordable and luxurious gift for moms, dads, grandparents, etc.
- Stainless steel gold cheese knife set: these are gorgeous! They’re not the most sustainable brand on the planet, but these are pretty.
For Home + Kitchen
- In-drawer knife organizer: we have this in our drawer and it’s a great solution for keeping things off countertops! It’s made from maple from responsibly-managed forests in the US.
- Branch Basics starter kit: this brand is the best clean/sustainable alternative to Clorox that I’ve found so far. The concentrate lasts for a good while – and the streak-free in particular is 12/10.
- World Market compost bin: composting is a great practice to get into in preparation for gardening next spring 😉 this super cute bin can either go under the sink or on your countertop if that’s your vibe.
- 3-in-1 Apple charging station: not really sustainable per-say, but truly awesome. I’m obsessed with mine – so efficient!
- Marley’s Monsters UnPaper Towels: we have these as well and they’re a great alternative to wasteful paper towels! Admittedly it does take some practice to get used to, but for everyday cleaning tasks like wiping down countertops, they’re the best.
- Stainless steel gold cheese knife set: a great gifts for new homeowners, friends, etc.
- Over-the-sink drying rack: this silicone drying rack folds up really small and sits over the sink to take up minimal space. The perfect solution for small spaces and totally flies under the radar.
- Salad spinner: a better alternative than buying salad bags!
For the Outdoors(wo)man
- National Parks Pass: the ideal gift for anyone who loves to be outside.
- Portable utensil set: made from sustainable materials and (obviously) reusable. They’re great for campers, but also for folks going into the office.
- REI Lifetime Membership: still one of the best gifts to give!
- Beautycounter face sunscreen: it’s so important to protect your skin from sun exposure on all your outdoor adventures.
- Exped double sleeping pad: we’re so excited to try this out the next time we camp!
- Rumpl puffer blanket: this puffer-style blanket is not only great for cold nights by the campfire, but also for picnics – and everything in between.
- OutdoorMaster ski goggles: just ordered these myself! So excited that the lenses are made from cotton extract and the strap is bamboo.
- MountainFlow Eco Wax – hot wax for ski/snowboard: gear up for the ski season properly!
Stocking Stuffers
- BC Goodbye Dry Body Duo: this is another perfect gift set to split up and add to multiple stockings! This set includes the AMAZING sugarbuff body polish and the body butter – two of the very best!!
- Boie USA face scrubber: I’ve had both the face and body scrubber for a couple years and they both are amazing. Made in the USA from silicone and top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Marley’s Monsters UnPaper Towels: great to test swapping out the use of paper towels!
- Portable utensil set: great for camping and/or work lunches!
- Attitude Living Hand Sanitizer: great smells, great price, great ingredients, and great sustainability practices.
- Etsy Bento Box: dishwasher safe and a much more sustainable option than buying a lunch or using Ilia Overnight Lip Wrap: Ilia is another great sustainable and clean beauty company, and this lip wrap is the absolute best for keeping your lips hydrated throughout the winter.
