I’m SO excited to share this tutorial with y’all because I think our TV frame turned out really well!! It completely transforms the space to make it look like the TV is an intentional piece of art rather than a TV. And, I’ll say that although we have a Samsung Frame TV that displays artwork, this will add dimension to any wall-mounted TV (for reference, see a photo of the TV without any artwork displayed below). Keep reading for the steps to complete this project yourself!

1. Purchase your materials. You’ll need:
   • Crown moulding of your choice. I found ours at Home Depot for about $8. There are so many choices with moulding! I’d recommend wandering the aisle to see what kind of design catches your attention. We wanted ours to look more antique, so we choose moulding that has some dimension to it. Don’t forget to think about how it would look when glued together in the corners (that can shift how it looks!). You’ll also want it to be as lightweight as possible.
   • Wood glue to glue together the corners.
   • A miter saw to cut the moulding in the corners. We bought this really cheap one from Home Depot and it requires some elbow grease, but worked great and gave us a clean cut.
   • A 90 degree corner clamp. Surprisingly, this was the most expensive part of the project! You’ll need this to hold together your freshly glued pieces of moulding.
   • If you don’t find crown moulding you like with a notch in the back, you’ll need to add quarter round at a 90 degree angle along the back of the crown moulding so that the TV frame doesn’t show from a side view.
2. Get EXACT measurements for your TV. You need to measure from one inside edge to the other because that’s where you’ll make the diagonal cut. This took us a couple tries to get right – so take it from me and make sure to measure precisely.
3. From your marking, use your miter saw to cut at a 45 degree angle outward. To ensure you’re not mixing up which direction to make the cut, try laying out your pieces first.
4. Glue your edges together one at a time. Make sure to use the corner clamp and let it sit for several hours before going to the next clamp. We let each corner sit overnight.
5. If your crown moulding doesn’t have a notch in the back (that’s not typical, so don’t sweat if you can’t find it!), measure and cut the quarter round at 45 degree angles to fit around the back of TV. These measurements don’t have to be QUITE as precise as the crown moulding measurements.
6. Glue your quarter round to the back of the crown moulding.
7. Now you’ve reached the fun part – painting! You can spray paint it, use regular paint, or use Rub N’ Buff – which is what I used, in antique gold.
8. Slide it around the TV and secure it! We were planning to use velcro but it was such a snug fit that we couldn’t make it work. We ended up just using tape – haha. Then you’re DONE!! 🙂
